Harvesting
Protecting the environment is at the heart of all
our activities – from helping customers to prevent
and mitigate pollution, to the scientific approach to
wastewater treatment.
To deliver meaningful and measurable change, it’s
vital that we understand our impact on the world
around us. To enable this, we have carried out a major
exercise to assess and record our energy use and
resource consumption, alongside a supplier audit to
ensure those we share our vision and
ambition of reaching Net Zero.
Following our findings, we have already introduced
several improvements including increased use of
electric vehicles and solar energy, more responsibly
resourced protective equipment, and a trial of
rainwater harvesting.
During 2023, we trialled rainwater harvesting at two
Workdry sites, with a view to extending this across all
our sites.
